When I first met Jennifer and Greg, I felt like we had been friends for a long time. Believe it or not, they found me on The Knot, and we met in a Starbucks on a rainy weekday night. After driving away, I remember calling David and going on about how I would love to be their wedding photographer.
Jennifer has such a tender hearted spirit, mixed with a fun and gentle spirit! She’s the kind of person you immediately want to be best friends with! When she told me she was a teacher, it was like I couldn’t even imagine her as anything else. Greg, continued to surprise me as I got to know him. And by the end of our meeting I could see how important finding the right wedding photographer was to him. From experience, I don’t see too many grooms interested in this part of the wedding. By the time the wedding had come and gone, I witnessed how smart, loyal, and determined Greg is. These two together make such a beautiful couple, and it was truly an honor to be able to capture these memories for them.
Jennifer and Greg actually met online and fell in love. They lived in Andersonville and often went out on dates in the area, one of the restaurants being the Pork Shoppe. One of their favorite things to do was walk to the lake shore on nice evenings or go on long bike rides on their tandem bike. So of course, these things had to be incorporated on their wedding day!
After spending the morning getting ready at their beautiful new home, the wedding party headed to the lake shore and we started with some fun pictures. We were having so much in fact, that everyone wanted to jump in on the action including a few drag queens and bystanders. That was definitely a first for me I must admit, and something I’m sure they will never forget! Following the portrait time, which was every photographer’s dream come true, we headed to the ceremony and reception location a short Uber drive away. The neighborhood BBQ restaurant was transformed into a beautiful venue space, and guests started coming in greeted to a full bar and delicious cocktails. My favorite part about Jennifer and Greg’s wedding is that they held the ceremony on the patio area of the restaurant while their close friends and family stood around them as they said their vows.
The rest of the night was filled with Ahhh-maaazing (reference to Jenny’s favorite word!) BBQ, beautiful toasts, dancing inside, conversation and cocktails on the patio, and some of the most delicious homemade desserts. Before I left, they ended the night with a ride on their tandem bike under a full moon and it was truly magical!
Jennifer and Greg –
First I want to say Thank You for letting me into this very special day! It was such a pleasure being able to capture these memories for you. And secondly I want to encourage you to never finish falling in love! Forgive often my friends! And choose love, even when you don’t feel like it! I pray these pictures will be a reminder of the vows you two made, the friends and family who love and support you, and the crazy beautiful devoted love between you two I witnessed while getting to know you both.
